A Sad Day For Baseball

Sports give us an escape from the drudgery of our everyday lives. Our sports heroes become larger than life. We look past their shortcomings and concentrate on the seemingly superhuman feats they are able to accomplish. After his retirement Kirby Puckett was revealed to be far from an innocent human being. But then again who among us is. I choose to remember the baseball player. He singlehandedly ripped the 1991 World Series out of the grasp of my beloved Braves and I will always have the memory of his leaping catch against the outfield wall in game 6 etched in my mind. I choose to remember the baseball player who could performamazing feats that we as regular joes can only dream about. So here's to you Kirby Puckett, thanks for the memories.
